Off and on for years I've been attending a group in the San Francisco Bay Area called Bay Area Wealth Builders Association, or BAWB as it's members call it, and it is a terrific association no matter what type of an investor you might be, or what you have to offer at any given time. This writer has reported on some of this groups activities on the Event City BlogaZine, from hotel properties, resorts, to commercial buildings good for Special Event Venues, and have found this niche in which this organization can help you cut deals and make things happen in a big way. It was the resurrection of the Fox Theater in Oakland California and it was one heck of a bash! An ensemble of companies and organizations came together to bring back this gorgeous relic from yesterdays downtown Oakland or Uptown as most know it today.

The Hosts of tonight's soirée were all instrumental in raising this sunken ship like a Titanic and setting it out to sea one more time. The City of Oakland, Bank America, Friends of the Oakland Fox, California Capital Group/California Commercial Investments, Another Planet Entertainment and Oakland School for the Arts were all graciously part of this incredible project which has been fully documented by Nathanael Bennett Photography.

The world just witnessed the swearing in of the 44^th President of the United States of America, Barack H. Obama. At 12:05pm EST, at the Presidential Inauguration he was sworn in and then delivered an extraordinary and very eloquent Inaugural Address, with emotion, strength, vigor and all that one would expect from a Presidential speech!

All will agree that some of his words were pretty direct and even tough as he talked about how “We must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin the work again of rebuilding America”. The Inaugural Address which lasted for 18 minutes and 10 Seconds allowed President Obama (doesn't that sound good!!) to give us his warm but no nonsense approach to let's roll up our sleeves and get down to business. President Obama had no problem letting the American people know how important it is that they are involved in this entire process.

Crunchies II At Herbst Theater San Francisco

The Crunchies, which took place last night at the Herbst theater in San Francisco packed to capacity crowd of mostly Technology gurus and investment types (you know VCs, Angels, your run of the mill money guys and gals) who were all there to cheer on their favorite start-up. For those of you not in the know of what the Crunchies are, they are the Oscars for the Tech industries. Sure this event wasn't just another Techie's party, at least if you areFacebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon CTO Werner Vogels, Google product chief Marissa Mayer, Microsoft chief software architect Ray Ozzie, or some other Tech Startup or growing software company or Killer App. Right?

What we found to be very interesting is the amount of female participants, developers, startups and business owners making their stake in the digital playground of technology.

We have much more to report such as the winners, a photo spread, and an Event Review on the Awards Ceremony and the After Party - not as bad as last year but can still use lots of help!

What Can We Find at CES & MacWorld?

A few of my friends asked me how can I attend both shows at the same time, CES (Consumer Electronic Show) in Las Vegas and MacWorld Expo in San Francisco? Well it'spretty simple. At Event City we have a cloning device that allows us to temporarily clone ourselves when we need to be in two places at one time. We haven't tried three or more clones yet, we are still perfecting the "Double Clone".

Ok, ok, I'm kidding folks, no cloning device, just the world of online computing, have you heard of the Internet? Sure, that is how we do it, pretty simple 'eh? So now that you know our secret, here's a few things to chew on while we work on bringing you much more from both of these great shows.

MACWORLD EXPO 2009 - Slated to be the last MacWorld Expo with the attendance of Apple Computer Inc., Macworld Conference & Expo offers access to hundreds of Mac products and services, paired with expert advice, demonstrations, and instruction.

Why not? Sure that's the easy way out. Ask a question give a simple answer. For the last year or so since we have talked to many of our Alpha and Beta testers about being more successful on the Internet we have heard this question time and time again. Why Advertise on the Internet? Why spend any amount of time investing in the Internet besides a website? It's too confusing. It's too difficult. Hackers will just steal what we do anyway! How can we earn revenues when there are experts out there doing just that? We will attempt to answer for you all those questions and much more as we visit Ad Tech San Francisco at Moscone Center over the next few days. This is a fascinating subject and the technology behind it all is brilliant!

First things first though. If you are involved in any of the Event City's industries, the Events & Creative Industries you definitely should be attending Ad Tech. As we cover this three day show in San Francisco, we already realize the magnitude of it's presence here in San Francisco alone. Social Networking a huge buzz word in general and at the show is seems to be a perfect fit for the Social Butterflies of the City By the Bay. Well as we come to realize there is so much more to "Social Networking" than one might perceive.

Ad dollars are just a part of what Ad Tech is all about. Sure the Goods are where the Gold is, or Cash is King (or is that Cache is King) but is that always true, especially in this day and age? I'm not too certain anymore. Tiny startups to major players like Google, Yahoo, Nestle and Kodak (Yep, even Nestle's Chocolates and Kodak Film company) are here, and you can bet they are not just Chocolates and no more film for the once gigantic firms. So what are two companies like these doing here? Incidentally both these companies fall into the realm of the Event City's "Events & Creative Industries"?

NEW SF EVENTS VENUE OPENS & GOES GREEN

Plans for a series of events are taking shape quite nicely at the new BENTLY RESERVE CONFERENCE & EVENTS CENTER in San Francisco. On April 9th and 10th, Christopher and Amber Marie Bently, owners of The Bently Reserve, are set to debut it’s new sustainable upgrades and the state-of-the-art Bently Conference Center with a series of events and festivities open to business associates, the media, event managers, meeting planners and the hospitality industry.

The crown jewel of the renovated building is the new Conference Center on the 2nd floor, boasting a variety of sustainable features and innovative technologies for meetings, parties, videoconferencing and corporate events. While it’s no mystery to San Franciscans who host lavish weddings and groundbreaking conferences there, The Bently Reserve is now more unique and appealing than ever thanks to an array of new eco-friendly features and innovative technologies.

Green, energy-efficient highlights include core upgrades like the new building control HVAC system, which was completely upgraded with a digital control, offering centralized on-site and remote temperature control, allowing off-site control for evening and weekend events.

The upgraded lighting controller – the Lutron Lighting EcoSystem™ – (which happens to be one of this writer's favorite) networks all lighting systems together and allows exact monitoring of kilowatts to accurately measure energy consumption. Advanced lighting sensors automatically detect outside light and adjust the interior lights to maximize energy savings. There are only three other commercial facilities on Earth with the same system installed on this scale.

In addition, the old CFC-based air conditioning chiller units were removed and replaced with a new, modern non-CFC based refrigerant system. This is a huge plus for event planners, especially when you get a crowed room of party-goers, all that body heat can really blast up the temperature in any room; this new air conditioning system will keep everyone nice and cool.

The latest digital technology was integrated into the new Conference Center, making it one of the most appealing destinations in San Francisco for conferences and business meetings. Teleconferencing equipment from Polycom offers high-definition quality and “Continuous Presence”, which allows conference attendees in multiple physical locations to see and hear each other in real-time digital squares on a monitor or screen. A highly-secure network using the latest Cisco Systems firewall and switch equipment creates peace of mind and a network that is secure enough to support government agencies. There is wireless internet available via completely segregated network access throughout the facility. With this system, individuals can connect to the network via their laptops throughout the Conference Center. In addition, there is also a business area with available computer rentals, fax machines, copiers, and scanners. Companies can also select from a variety of comprehensive audio/visual and telecommunications packages to suit their needs.

As you can see from the pictures, this is a beautiful venue, but its beauty is not truly appreciated until you had the opportunity to visit this incredible venue. The production crew from Extreme Creatorz were doing their thing at the Haunt Show in Las Vegas. I was impressed with this particular character, "GRUDGE", mainly due to his size, movements, and range of motion. Nine separate motions and Mp3 audio capability - he's the BOMB!!

Wow, Transworld sure knows how to put on a party, don't they? I'm not talking about the Costume Gala, but the Halloween Costume and Party Show itself; WHAT A PARTY! Seeing old friends, such as Leslie and Larry Meyberg, now with Rubie's Costumes, I haven't seen them in many years; many new friendly faces - Jordan Best of Clear Neon, what a Cool Product that is, Kevin Bartholomew with Windy City and Pier Luigi Pulella of Mask Venezia! This Transworld logo below looks like one of Luigi's. Then there's the old friends that I use to buy for in my previous life with That's Entertainment International - Henry Kwitel of Visual Effects Inc., and Alan and Stan Beckerman of Peter Alan Inc costumes, two of the friendliest and easiest companies to do business with in any industry. YOU GUYS ROCK!!

Wow. That's all I can say, is WOW! Those of you that know me know I do not "Wow" very easily, let alone, "WOW". This show kicks bloody ass (No pun intended in more ways than one) with everything from some incredible Animatronix, to a full body Corpse Costume. It's the year of Sexiest of Sexy costumes to a container full of farting (and yes it really does have the odor of the perfect passing gas participant). We saw an incredible device that puts Spiderman's webs to shame, an actual talking head, globs of new costumes and gore that goes where no zombie has gone before.

Whatever fits your fancy it is here at the Halloween Costume and Party Show, and insiders tell me the big costume craze this year will be FANTASY, such as this beautiful piece from Franco American Costumes LLC.

Good morning East Coast, happy dreaming West Coast! I welcome you to the Event City Network's™ magazine blog. The first of it's kind to be presented within the United States and as far as we know, within the entire Global Internet!

I present to you on this First day of June 2007, our first Blog of hopefully many more to come, for the Event City Network's™ online publication, EVENT CITY CREATIVE™. What is the Event City Creative™ and what type of publication will it be? It is an online "Mag and Zine" for the Events & Creative Industries™ soon to be in Beta Test. The Event City Network™ is the new Online Service Portal for these industries and all their vertical markets.

It is our goal to create a magazine as YOU our readers would create it. Share with us your thoughts and ideas of what you would like to see in our Zine and we will do our best to include as much of it as possible.
